Default Winter Tires - Considering Pirelli Scorpion Winters - any experience ?

Hey All,
I'm looking for a good winter tire that wont be too loud on the long highway trips I frequently do, I have been doing a bit of research online and many recommend the Pirelli Scorpion Winters

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....Premium%20Plus

Anyone on here have experience with these on your Audi's ?
Any other recommendations I should look at before I pull the trigger ?

If you want quietness, I would suggest Michelin. But they do wear out fast. I have Nokian Hakka 5, they are a little Noisy but winter up in Canada can be bad and most of the quiet winter tires have problems as soon as there is slush since the tread pattern is made mostly for ice and light snow.

This is my problem, I know I need some decent tread for the huge amounts of snow and ice we get here in Canada, but I also drive on the highway almost (1000km/3weeks) so Road noise would drive me nuts.

Maybe look into Bridgestone, I heard good reviews on the toyo winter tires. Here in Quebec I am sold on Nokian because the temperature changes often in winter and need an all around winter tire and didn't want stud. If I was around the GTA my pick would have been Continental or Toyo.

I have the Pirelli Scorpions on my 2012 Q7 in 18". Great tire. Good on snow and ice but also decent handling and very low noise on dry pavement. Had this same tire on my previous 2006 X5 and loved them.
