I wonder why Audi designed the arm rest to be so hard. When I rest my arm there, it wants to roll right into the split of the arm rests.

Right now, I have a thin black foam on top it to increase the cushion and that helps a lot.

I'm thinking of adding foam under the arm rest leather later. Has anybody done this before or know how to do it?

an automotive upholsterer can easily pad the armrest however matching the material may be difficult depending on your color and type of leather.
