Audi Matrix
So today I finally had a chance to properly test my matrix lights. (Non available for Americans). I must say, I am a little disappointed with the effectiveness. For those of you considering getting them, please be aware that they do not work very well in well lit areas. I was blinding every driver who drove by. They were not too pleased. You have to be in the middle of nowhere where there is total background darkness for them to properly identify incoming traffic. Also, the high beam is not as bright as i had expected it to be. But, in the few instances when the technology does work as it should, it is quite impressive.
I believe this technology is just waiting for its big brother --- Laser lights ---which I think will be truly awesome. I expect these on the Audi Q9. Will be first in line to buy.

I would get them checked out as it sounds like they may not be calibrated? I do not have this issue and haven't been flashed by oncoming traffic at all in the past 4 months since i took delivery.
Likewise, regarding the brightness I find them really good? I also like the way they adapt to the road such as flaring out when approaching junctions / roundabouts.

Likewise with us Americans with the automatic high beam feature. Its about 97% there. A couple times it was what I consider a little late going back to low beam.My Cadillac CTS has the same feature and it works perfect.

Automatic high beam is a totally different beast. It is just on or of, mostly off. Matrix lights should have a million combinations of how the light can be shined. The advantage in theory is they can be always on. The Bmw system , which is more basic, works brilliantly. I am very surprised about ops comments. I hope he is wrong, but can only report once i get the car. Works best in winter, doesn't work in city as too much ambient light.

I had laser lights in i8 and they were much worse than my adaptive leds in the x5. The adaptive laser laser lights in the 7 might be better, but in my opinnion the laser lights are just strong leds at best.

My matrix LEDs work fantastically - since I got the car in Feb 2016 never once flashed at by other cars. I think they are the best thing since sliced bread or since Q7s were invented.

The more I think about it, the more I am sure the OP just had high beams on, not adaptive high beam. They SHOULDNT be on at all unless it is pitch dark and definately not in the city.
