Default At the car wash.....

I get really nervous at the car wash that the attendant will not put it in park properly. It is so confusing to them that someone usually rides thru the wash in it, then jumps out in a hurry for the hand dryers to finish. Anyone else have this feeling?

The parking brake will self-engage when they open the door without putting it in park.

Well that's a cool feature, not that I want to test it.

Self wash it for peace of mind.

Just open the door (it still works when you are in the car).

My Q7 is 3 weeks old. No way i am going to let it go through a public car wash. Too much damage will happen to body work. Invested a few bucks and i am learning about detailing.... great new hobby. Who would have thought that taking your car to a car wash can fo so much damage.

FWIW my 2011 Q7 and 2014 Q7 have been through local car wash numerous times, no issues.

Better tell your dealer not to wash it when it's in for service, as they simply run it through a car wash.

My 12 Lexus GX460 went through the automatic car wash at least 2 times a week since I bought it and never once did I see any damages. I plan on doing the same with my Q7 and hopefully I'll have the same results.

The results are all dependent on the car wash. What type of equipment they use, how well is it maintained, etc.
