Doesn't look like enough damage to be branded Salvage on the title. Unless they already repaired a bunch and the stopped part way thru?

Nor enough damage for an insurance company to total.

I like how they say "we are pleased to offer".
No surprise that its totalled. Timeline to get the parts may be to far out. So it may be more prudent to total it of its gonna take 9 months to fix.

Probably exactly what happened. I got one of the first Acura Integra GS-R's when they came out. A few months later I was rear-ended by a driver that fell asleep at the wheel. Lead time on the parts to repair it was 9 to 12 months, so they totaled it. As long as there is a 6-month backlog of orders for new Q7's, some replacement parts will be in short supply.

Sorry, I would pass on this. To be branded Salvage on the title will significantly impact resale later. How much will it cost to fix this mess?

The fact that this vehicle has a SALVAGE TITLE means that insurance company determined to total this based on the damage and facts about parts availability etc.

Bet you miss that car? If it wasn't totaled from the wreck, it would have been stolen. My wife had a coworker by a GS-R brand new back in 99' or 00', it was stolen a week later in broad daylight from her office parking lot. It was recovered about a week later, completely stripped.

It all worked out fine...There was a 6-month waiting list to get a new '95 GS-R so instead I went with a '96 A4 and have driven Audis ever since. That 2.8 engine may have been one of the durable and trouble-free engines that Audi ever built.
