Default Recall campaign 69O3 - Airbag Control Module Software Update

Took the Q7 in for an oil change today (5k) on my dime and also found out that there is a recall that affects my Q7 related to the Airbag Control Module. Punch you VIN into the Audi Recall page to see if you are affected.

You can find info about the recall on the NHTSA website here.

Hey hcubed, how much did you pay for the oil change? Thanks!

$197.40 ! (Yes, it hurts still :-) ) = $67.40 parts + $130 labor

The only amusing part was that the SA writing things up made it very clear in the paperwork that the customer was acknowledging that the oil change wasn't due until 10k and was paying out of pocket. Seems the techs always call them and ask if the customer knows it would cost them outside the regular schedule.

Unless you have a maintenance agreement, doesn't it always cost you out of pocket?

Yes. I have Audi Care but the first scheduled service is at 10k (they changed it for the 2017 Q7). So, out of pocket for this 5k oil change.

Thanks! Yes, it would hurt me too.

I have been thinking about doing the same thing as well.

So I scheduled an appointment for this recall via my dealer's online system.

When I first signed in to my account, it automatically asked me to add this recall to the appointment. Then I found there was another available service called "Customer Requests: perform 45E1 campaign - ESP control module software update to reduce battery draw."

Does anyone know what this is about? Thanks!
