Default Stalk lights

Sitting in my car right now with lights on and noticed that the cruise control stalk is lit (from inside the stalk) but the turn signal and wiper stalks are not.

Is that normal?

Thanks.

It is. I think it's because the lower stalk would be harder to see at nighttime and the upper stalk may provide a distraction while driving at night. Just my thoughts.

I just checked mine (Prestige trim) and sure enough, the turn signal and wiper stalks are not backlit. The cruise control stalk is backlit as are the shift paddles and steering wheel controls. Seems kind of strange that with all the controls on the main stalks that they wouldn't light those too. I don't think they'd be any more distracting than any of the rest of the backlit legends.

Totally agree. I would find it helpful to have them backlit.

This was highlighted as one of the new features in the 2017 models, in the past all stalks were unlit but for the 2017 Q7 and A4 they added backlit for the cruise control stalk so that people can figure out how to use it in the dark.

Just returned from a night drive and to my dismay my ACC stalk is NOT backlit - I always thought they were but now noticed either there's a defect or the Euro cars aren't lit. Anyone with a Euro model?? (paddles & other steering wheel controls are lit) Of course the cup holders aren't lit either

The back lighting turns off when the stalk if all the way forward (off position).
