Default A4 1.8 Header Core replacement - DIY

Anyone near the Buckley Air Force base willing to lay a hand in getting my heater core replaced?
I want to learn and I have found some DIY on line stuff, however I rather have someone with some experience guide me in the process...

Lunch and Beers are included :-)

Thank you,

This is an update on the heat core issue.

I wanted to check for leaks and I have found some antifreeze on the driveway.
The test found that their a small leak by the area where the thermostat meets the engine block. However in order to perform the test leak, they had to apply pressure etc...
After the test was completed, I began to get some heat inside the cabin... not as much as normal but about 25%.

Possibilities:

1) Was the thermostat stocked?
I have never seen then engine temp going more than the normal middle of the range

2) Does a bad thermostat causes the lack of heat in the cabin?

3) Did the pressure test some how forced some of the junk stocked in the header core out of the way and allow it to work a little?

What other possibilities??

I had this thermostat get stuck open on my daughters Audi 90.

She never looked at the temp gauge till winter and noticed that the car never got warm in the cabin
