Default S8 in Bandimere

I went with some friends yesterday (Wednesday) to Bandimere and it was so much fun. I saw a white S8 runing 16.3 secs. the best ... I didn't run my A4, my roommate ran his E46 M3 and the best time was 14.4 secs.

I was a little shocked when I saw how bad the cars were doing. When I look into a car magazine, the numbers are way better than the numbers I saw in Bandimere, what a huge difference ! The high altitude is killing NA cars.

Here is some best numbers I remember
14.1 Corvette
14.8 a supercharged 350Z !
15.5 stock 350Z
13.5 modified E55
12.7 Supra TT
13.6 Viper
13.8 Integra ! (NOS

I saw 2 yellow S4's but they didn't run their cars, one looks stock and the other has BBS rims, exhaust, boost gauge ...

My friends and I might go there next Wednesday and I might run my STOCK A4.

I think we should go there once at least. It'll be fun to see some S4's, A4's, TT's ... there

BTW, anyone run a S4 there ? What was the 1/4 mile time and what mods do you have ?

Default One thing you have to remember...

A lot of the magazines have 1/4 mile times as recorded at sea level. We're pretty high up in the altitude, and that altitude difference must be taken into account. Figure on times at Bandimere being a second lower at sea level. 14's for this altitude are actually pretty good numbers

For the record, my friend Kris has a Stage III S4, which was piloted by 951porsche at Bandimere to a 12.9 second ET, with full spare, lots of stuff in the trunk and snow tires.

Default Oh... Also forgot to mention....

Having a good driver behind the wheel helps to reduce 1/4 mile times too

Default Its not just that, they also put corrections on their times

Somehow I still managed to get a 14.2 out of my car on a 110degree day and at 2k altitude :-p
Eh, thats why I say screw 1/4 mile racing now. Its funny how people put these parts on their cars, run in a 1/4 mile (any chimp could get the same times I get in a quattro car, its not hard at all) and they think that "they" are fast. Whats even worse is the amount of 'respect' they get for it.

Default Agreed. Lots of factors with 1/4 mi racing...

It's like the planets have to be aligned just right to get that 'perfect' ET

You don't NEED any of that to go to SCR. Only thing thats really *necessary* is good brakes.
