Agree on all points; "drop engine list" for the RS 6 is HUGE.

Default Buy mine, 62K miles and everything new including DRC. And warranty. S5 pulled for production so

RS6 may be one step closer to exiting my hands.

I wanted to restart this thread and ask which car will be better to buy and have lower overall maintenance:

2003 RS6 with all known issues resolved and ready to go @140K miles
2007 V10 S6 nearing 80K miles

I know of the RS6 pitfalls, how about the '07 S6? Do all the nasty FSI carbon issues exist on the V10 version?

In short YES the v10 s6 is known for the dreaded carbon buildup as well. Search apr tuned v10 and you should find the thread. Good luck!

You mentioned "fidelity" is that a warranty inspection for the cars? Are they good? Cost and coverage? Any other options?

And not to mention to speeding tickets because of my spirtied driving. Absolutely a fun car to drive, one of my favorites, but make sure that you have extra in your piggy bank when the time comes.
