RS6 C5 common issues?
Hey guys,
I am new to this forum, but I thought I might as well acquaint my self with it now, and try and dig out all the knowledge and experiences I can from current and previous owners about my dream car.
I currently own an A4 1.8t from 1999, so I know these Audis aren't the best, mines done 290k though, and no engines problems. Swapped the clutch and replaced sway bars and suspension arms, that's about it for the issues I've had.
But as I am reading up on the car of my affordable dreams (we all want R8's..) I am starting to here some horror stories and I wanted to know what I can expect if I end up buying an RS6 C5 Sedan for my self next year.
Please tell me all the goods and the bads, I wanna see how much extra money I have to save up to keep it alive while driving!
Thanks
- Ben

Go to rs6.com or rs246.com look around.
basically, DRC; torque converter; transmission; and cam chain tensioners; bufkin pipe.
Mine has had DRC replaced and TC too. CCT shortly. Have a fat wallet or a patron, you'll need it. Oh and have a beater.

what he said...
I recently picked up a 2016 S6, and of course, the technology is amazingly different on the two cars. But with a tune (I had APR on the first one and frankly, overpriced; have 034 Motorsports tune on the second one and it is solid and much less expensive), it remains a blast to drive. Good luck!

Looking at replacing my 2010 S6 V10 5.2 code: BXA blown engine, 99k Still not sure how...
with a new 2008 RS6 V10 5.0 Bi-Turbo code: BUH
the Turbos ECU and wiring harness are new as well
anyone know what else to expect different ? or how much extra work and parts it's going to be ?
Thanks
Nick
