RS6 hesitation? Whats wrong
Hi, i have a 2004 RS6 that is suffering from hesitation in acceleration around 2400rpm. Ive checked the forums for MAF sensor, Torque converter and oxygen sensor failure but none of the symptoms seem to fit. The garage have a computer download to indicate the replacement of the oxygen sensors with the Check engine light code.
Please can you take a look at this link of the symptoms and see what you guys think is wrong?
The garage want 12 hours labor to do the oxygen sensors which is clearly madness, i have read three hours to replace all four is about right?
Really appreciate your help in this matter as i have a feeling that its not just the O2 sensor that is causing this.
Thanks

I had a similar situation occur with my 2.7t... While I've never experienced an RS-anything, I can tell you that pre-cat o2 sensors can and will cause the symptoms your car is exhibiting. I cleaned the MAF sensor on my car thinking that was the cause. Then, I eventually replaced it, spark plugs, checked coils, etc and still didn't solve the problem. I then scanned the car for codes and found that one of the pre-cat o2 sensors was acting up. I replaced it, and the car runs great now. I even returned the new MAF sensor (Hitachi) to Amazon for a refund. Do you have specific codes?

Dear GSrob, thanks for your reply and experience. It makes me feel better that the symptoms and the computer download tie up with someone else's experience.
They're saying 12:30 man hours to replace all four which seems like a massive job, i have read that its a three hour job elsewhere.....
