Default 2015 RS7 CEL / Engine gremlins

Car threw a CEL flashing and then solid after I attempted to recreate the problem the first time I felt it. I was accelerating up the on-ramp, manual mode, 3rd-4th gear around 4K RPM when i noticed the engine stumble, cut power, CEL light flash, then all was normal. Attempted to accelerate under load again and same problem when reaching 4-5K RPM. Car is absolutely smooth in coasting/ light acceleration runs.

3 days at dealer so far and they have diagnosed that the entire left bank shut off when the CEL code was initiated.

Dealer swapped high pressure fuel pumps to see if they could replicate the problem on the other bank, no luck, same set of cylinders; especially cylinder 5 consistently showing misfire.

Car has 9000km; certainly upset but dealer has been very co-operative/ helpful through the whole process.

thoughts?

Turned out to be a faulty fuel pump. If you have any of the above symptoms, the CEL does not diagnose the fuel pump right away; hence the loop around with mechanics thinking its coil packs/ spark plugs etc. Freeze frame study showed fuel pump faults from around 160km....

Car definitely feels faster then when i first picked it up.

that's good to hear. I have a '15 RS7 too so you post got me worried. Still less than 1000 miles but now I know if I experience similar issues.

The issue with the fuel pumps on DFI motors is something that other manufactures have dealt with too, namely Porsche. I had mine replaced under warranty on my first 09 997.2 car.

To be clear, it was the main fuel pump that resides in the gas tank.
