Default 4 vs. 8 cylinders

I have had my RS7 a little over a month. On one road trip, I thought I could feel a slight "kick" under light acceleration. Can you actually feel the car shift from 4 to 8 cylinders?

for my car it is seamless, or i cannot tell. Granted, when I am on the highway I do not use cruise control lol, but when the RPMS are really low in comfort I assume its in 4 cylinder mode?

I can definitely feel the transition in my S6.
