I'm pretty clueless about this - so excuse the dumb question. But I'm looking at some nice used HRE wheels for a 2017 RS7 Performance. These wheels are 21 x 10.5. I think the factory / OEM are 21 x 9, right? So what are the reasons for or against a 10.5 width versus the 9 width? Does it change the ride of the vehicle? Is it about looks? I was told the factory tires fit on these wheels.

So you are looking for new wheels for a car you don't yet own? The wheels on my lowly S7 are 10.5's. Doubt you will want less. You have to get the power to the ground. Get the car and see what you like/don't like. I'll bet you'll be fine.
