Default Need help Rs4 suspension

I will be doing away with the drc suspension on my 2008 rs4

I would prefer not to lower the car or lower it very little.

Looking into doing the Bilstein sport shocks and struts kit and either keeping my stock springs or getting the H&r springs not sure which way to go the H&r only drop the car .75 front and .06 rear which is not bad since I do not want to drop the car much.

What would be the better setup ? Or recommendations

I am not opposed to a coilover kit if someone convinces me it would be much better. I do not track

Can't speak for the Bilstein shocks, but I have seen a number of RS4 pictures claiming to have the H&R springs on the stock DRC shocks and they looked a lot lower than .75 and .60. I think it would be nice if some people chimed-in on this with actual measurements.

Having said that, monotube high pressure gas shocks (Bilstein) are known to raise cars a slight bit. So, maybe you could use these with the H&R shocks?

I would like to make a purchase by Monday. I guess nobody has this setup. Are the stock springs linear or progressive ?

I think most of the people who have replaced the drc are people who are more into track use. The drc is a great system and works great for street and some track. All of the aftermarket setups tend to be slightly more harsh in street use than the drc and did not provide any more performance except in extreme use.

Yes, but the DRC shocks don't last worth a damn and they are very expensive. To me, the Bilstein replacement shocks are an excellent replacement if I can be assured the car won't raise.

What makes u believe it will be raised. So u do not know for a fact that it will be raised.

wouldn't the shock and strut dimensions tell us that ?

No, as I said above, it is the nature of monotube high pressure gas shocks to raise the car a slight bit. At least this was the case when I used them in the past. What I don't know for a fact is if this particlar set of shocks will do the same or if the tubes are a bit shorter than stock. That's why we need someone to compare the Bilstein with the stock shocks.
