Default RS4 Throttle Body is the exact same part as a C6 Corvette Z06

While I was washing my car in a friend's autobody shop a corvette tuner who was taking a break from running a vette on the dyno asked me to pop my hood....

He immediately left the front of the car and walked towards a box in the other ocrner of the shop and pulled out a GM throttle body that had just come off of a C6 Z06.

The part is bored to be larger than that of a standard C6 and upon inspection the RS4 has the exact same part. Very weird.

Even funnier is the fact that the retail price on the GM part is $106 while the Audi part is $995 and they are plug and play.

Default interesting. if true, this might open a path to some additional power.

for example, <a href="http://www.brothersperformance.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/1114/products_id/5891">something like this</a>???

Default More Power? Not likely....

Not sure that we'll be able to squeeze extra power because the Z06/RS4 throttle body is already bored which makes for an easy increase in a standard C6. It's very obvious when you look into the part that all of the metal that could've been shaved out of the innerds of that part have been. Too bad cause it would have been very cool if it was just that easy. The guys that were tinkering my car had just come away from a 1000 rwhp corvette and so my faith is that they know their s%#t when it comes to the available bolt on parts or the ability to get more out of the stock component. Very interesting though.

Default Why surprising?

not many diff suppliers out there. And the pricing by Audi is disgusting! The Germans rip you off on the price of the car, the parts, and the service. Why? Well, that part is laughable.

Well I can tell you that some other TBs are also plug and play if they fit on the intake manifold.
