Installing Gruppe M Intake
Just ordered an intake. Waiting for it to come. Has anyone installed this intake on your own? Is it a pain in the ***? All I have done is drop a K&N air filter in the air box and that wasn't that bad at all.

I was tempted to try since the instructions made it look fairly simple, but decided against it. Local performance shop charged $75 to do it. Worth it to make sure it was done correctly. The guy who put it in said it was an easy install. Also I heard others got a CEL that they had to clear a couple times before it finally going away, I never got the CEL. So curios if you get it, Post up after

imo...
with digital audio, cables make no difference...same for digital video...error correction, encoding, etc. take care of any 'distortion'...
with analog video, they can make a difference, large bandwidth and harmonics, phasing, etc.
with analog audio, probably not...
speakers for example, bandwidth ~20-30 khz...no one will hear any difference between the most expensive speaker cables and 12 AWG, fine strand, copper lamp cord, installed properly:
connections tinned and tight
shortest runs possible
avoid emf interference, ie, power cords, hi freq audio signals, etc.

I guess no one has installed this guy in their RS4 themselves, huh?? Just received it in the mail today. Gonna install it within the next week. This should be fun....
By the way, I have just dropped a K&N filter in the stock airbox prior to getting the Gruppe M intake. It does significant improvement to the sound at high rpms (5000 +) with a deep growling sound to it. This sound wasn't there before with the stock filter which is like 3 inches of cardboard. Not sure about hp increase they claim...hard to tell 5hp increase in a 420 hp car w/o dyno.
I'll let you guys know about the CEL if it comes on or when it comes on. Hopefully it doesn't .

You are going to love it!!
I just had it installed, Not mechanically minded just yet so had someone else do it.
The GruppeM intake not only looks the nuts, but torque really feels better from 3k-9k rpm and gives the engine a much throatier sound, highly recommend it!
Also found some damper leakage, I'll post seperately
See before and after
