Default 2007 S4 wont' consistently start- HELP

Hello Audi Forum,
I'm the original owner of a 2007 Audi S4, I have put 167,000 miles on the car. I bought the car from Sunset Audi in Beaverton, Oregon and I've only serviced by car at that original dealer (Sunset Audi).

The car has been running great but I've been trying to track down a very odd starter problem.

From time to time, the car won't start. I end up using jumper cables and jump the car.

When the car won't start, it seems is trying to turn and makes the cranking noise. On several occasions, it appears the battery is nearly dead.

These are the things that I've checked and fixed items related to this issue:

1. Installed new battery in late May 2015, currently ~1 month old
2. Mechanic checked starter, claims it's working fine
3. Mechanic checked alternator, claims is working fine
4. Fixed belt to alternator, suppose to help but still seeing starting problem

Once the car starts, it runs perfectly fine.

I'm running out of ideas and I need your expertise.

Is my battery dead again?
Is my alternator not working and the garage can't tell?
When I jump the car, does it by pass my starter?
I have an iPhone charger in the cigarette lighter, could that be causing the problem?

Thanks for the link!

I think it might be a similar problem. How do I get a battery management module for my 2007 S4? I'm a long time Audi dealer but I'm a total novice to fixing cars

I figure the forum was better than my mechanic since they can't seem to fix it.

The battery management module will be in the trunk very close to your battery. follow the negative battery cable and it should lead straight to that module as it passes through it. A couple bolts and the module is replaced.

My battery is in the hood of the car and I couldn't find the energy management module. I tried following the negative cable on the battery, but it went too deep into the engine to see.

I called my local Audi dealer in Beaverton and asked about the part. According to the service adviser, they could find an energy management module.

Does anyone know the part number? Or a picture of this part?

I just went thru similar problem..for me it was a loose ground wire..replace ignition switch..brake switch..checked the usual but overlooked the ground wires..after 2 weeks messing around..it starts consistently now..I felt so stupid
