I live in aruba, hot humid salty air & dusty.
I spoke to a mechanic and he said audi's are horrible in our climate and unreliable, breaking down a lot.

I know the sun and salty air is devastating on paint, interior, rust etc.
Also I know about power loss due to hot air. But what effect does it have on the car mechanicaly?

It seems strange to me that this climate would be harsher to an audi than any other brand
Are audi's really that unreliable mechanically in this hot sea climate. (specifically s4 b6)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Get a second opinion. The conditions are the same for all cars.
