Cluck between gear change and wheels judder when turning..
Hi, I've just bought a B6 S4, 103k miles on the clock. Lovely condition and fully loaded. Only issue I have is when I pull away while turning, the wheels seem to judder and feel like they are dragging each other. Also, when pulling away at speed there is a thud/jerk when I change from 1st to 2nd, and also again to 3rd. It doesn't seem to do it after 3rd. It feels like there is play in something. It comes from the rear. So, I would pull away with a bit of throttle, as I press he clutch down I get the slight 'thud', then as I bring it back up and the gears engage it does it again. The only way I can avoid it is to pull away gently or kind of ride the clutch as I change gear. I've read similar posts about this type of issue and people have mentioned mounts, rear diffs etc.. but no definite answers. These problems don't happen when its cold, starts after a couple of miles of driving. I had a A4 quattro previously that had the judder but not the thud. I think that that the rear diff as it was a little noise. Can anyway help?
