Hey guys,

I'm new to this forum and thinking of purchasing my first Audi.

I've got the opportunity to choose between an 2015 S4 with 20km and 2008 RS4 with 72km. Both are about the same price $40k and both are manual transmission, the way I like it. Which is the better option in the long haul? Which will hold it's value more and cause me fewer headaches? Are there noticeable differences in terms of performance? I'll never mod the car other than perhaps a tuner.

Or should I just lower my standards and go for 2006 S4 with 102km for $19k?

Hey Raz, welcome and great question! My 2c:
1. Never lower your standards if you can afford it
2. If you look around you can find waaaay cheaper RS4, starting at 18k here: Audi RS 4 for Sale in Lake Forest, CA 92630 - Autotrader
3. Long haul - RS4 is more complex and older so it is more likely to break, however it is more powerful and => a ton more fun to drive.
4. Differences in performance - hell yes, I'd strongly advise you to check the specs of each. You'll notice that the RS4 is 30% more powerful while it is only ~2% heavier, details: 2008 Audi RS 4 4.2L vs. 2015 Audi S4 3.0T Premium Plus

I think you already know what is my hands down recommendation, but just to make sure: get the RS4 my man . I'll be getting an RS6 in the next year and then definitely an RS4.
