Default ...Help!...My engine fan won't stop!! The car has been off ...

...for an hour!! Anybody experience this before? It just can't be normal.
I just hit 5000 miles and will be taking it in this week, but this is worrying me. Any suggestions?
The manual says the radiator fan runs on its own for up to 10 minutes...but it's been over an hour. There must be some weird heat build-up issue.

Default Yikes

Have you tried starting it back up and letting it run for a short bit then turning it off?
Don't know why that would help but its worth a shot.

Must be a bad relay or something along those lines.

Default hmm i don't know. but the manual also says that the fan can start at anytime even if the car is off

so I'm not sure if I should do that, since technically it may 'need' to be on?...
I just went for a quick drive and it stayed on again when I shut off the engine...
i don't know, I'm gonna finish watching my movie and then I'll check it again in a little while.
Either way I'm calling Audi Service on monday.

Default Try pulling fuse #4

At least that way it wont run your battery down over night. Be sure to replace the fuse if you are going to go driving.
Fuse arrangement is on pg 323 of the manual.

Default Happened to me about the same time - was corroded fan thermostat

Service thought it was highly unusual. Mine went until the battery drained and had to be flatbedded in.

Good luck, hope it gets fixed quickly.
