Help With VAG Code
17934 - Camshaft Timing Adj. Bank1 (N205)
P1526 - 001 - Short to Plus - MIL ON
Haven't had much luck searching for a solution to this code, aside from replacing my N205, what does a "short to plus" really mean? Where is the N205 on the 4.2?
Thanks

The N205 on the 4.2L V* is located at the rear of the engine, at the rear of cylinder bank 1 (left/passenger side, facing car), just below and outboard of the camshaft position sensor.
According to Ross-Tech: VAG code 17934/P1526 - Camshaft Timing Adj. Bank1 (N205): Short to Plus
Possible Symptoms

Poor engine performance
Possible Causes
Wiring harness issue
Failed N205 adjuster (electrical)
Failed ECM
Possible Solutions
Ohm test N205 adjuster, see factory repair manual for specifications.
Inspect wiring harness to and from N205 adjuster.

Well, I identified the little bugger, unfortunately I can't seem to find a replacement anywhere that matches. The part number shows C 27 13 007 02 21 600 005 F. They replacements all seem to have the actuator parts protruding out of them, while this one came with a plastic piece and spring inserted in the hold it came from.
