Default Recommendations for Seattle area indy mechanic

I am looking for an independent mechanic. I have a 2005.5 B7 s4 and am 99% sure it suffered a timing component related failure, likely bent valves but not sure. It's at a local dealership, instructed them 1-2 hrs max to diagnose, they called me back saying they got timing/misfire codes but need to pull valve covers to verify cam timing position, to the tune of an additional $700 plus. Whether a valid step to take or not, cant see investing another $700 in a motor that might be toast anyhow, and pretty sure I wouldn't pay them to do the work, but will ask for an estimate anyway. Long, sad story short, I'm interested in any referrals for a mechanic that people have had actual (good) results with. The car is otherwise super clean, less than 100k miles on it.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
