Hi I recently purchased a 2010 s4 which was missing all the modules and ballasts on the headlights and the full headlight unit of the passenger side.

I accidentally purchased an AFS headlight while my car is non adaptive. Would this headlight still work, I'm reading all these things about codes popping up.

Also, would the ballasts in a HID kit suffice or should they be oem?

My current driver side headlights part number is 8K0 941 003 E, and the adaptive one I got for the passenger side is 8K0 941 004 J.


Luckily the guy will let me exchange for another one he has in stock which is 8K0 941 004 R. I believe this on is non adaptive but the last letter still doesn't match up. Any ideas what the difference may be?


Also, I called the Audi dealer and they couldn't even recognize these part #'s instead they gave me 8K0 941 040 AL which completely throws me off now.
