Well, I showed up at Lynbrook Audi for my 45000 mile Audi Care today. I mentioned the recall for both my Audi's and now have an appointment on Tuesday for MonSoonHell. They stated the recall work is 5 hours, so loaner car is mine for Tuesday. The A7 is scheduled for Wednesday, so when I pick up MonSoonhell on Wednesday morning, wifey follows me and uses the same loaner.

I've got a leaker.
I started smelling gas on the way home from a friends house on Super Bowl Sunday in my 2012. Took it to the dealer on Monday. Pool of gas under the supercharger. Mine is covered by the recall. Bad news is that parts kits for the recall are not yet readily available. The car has been at the dealer for 1.5 weeks. Still waiting. Q3 loaner. It's ok but I like my S4 a lot more.
Dealer has a long history of treating me well, Roger Jobs, Bellingham, WA. So it's probably just a no parts in the pipeline from Germany issue.

Updating you guys on the recall for my car. Had an oil change and state inspection done at Audi of Arlington yesterday so I asked about the recall. I was told that they will check the car if repair is needed. On the invoice it states, "PERFORM UPDATE 24AP IF APPLICABLE" and below this "Vehicle not applicable". So I guess they're doing this on a case by case basis. They're not fixing it if there's no problem.

I explained to the rep(s) (there were two involved) that for the Audi Care maintenance I did not want them to connect me to the AoA computer, as I am not flagged TD1 (yet). Also, I mentioned that on the car forums there are rumblings of the recall involving an ECU flash, which if that involves wiping out my tune to NOT go through with the recall work. I am not really worried about the TD1 flag, as my warranty is up anyways, but the idea of not being flagged is always a good thing.
I received a phone call at 1200 hours. One of the two reps contacted AoA and asked, if a client had a tune would they lose it with the recall fix. The answer was YES.
At this point, I stated do NOT conduct any work involving the recall fix.
I bring this up to truly confirm that the recall fix will wipe your tune and possibly your VAG-COM mods.
Also, I am reading above that some locations do not have the replacement parts to conduct the recall fix. I can tell that you Lynbrook Audi has the parts. I have our A7 going in tomorrow morning for its Audi Care (25000 miles) and the recall fix.

Yes. Same here. I call guys who did tune for me. I need to do reflash to stock and after recall job done at the dealer they'll put the tune back on. Reflash and retune will cost me $50. Not too bad.

Recall done.
I had a two week wait for parts. The car required all three of the recall steps, fuel rail, thermostat and re flash. No tune in mine so the reflash was not an issue. I think they missed a plug or a vacuum line because just off the lot on the way home my wife got a CEL and the code is P 2006 and P 2007 for intake manifold runner stuck closed on both banks. Back on Monday to have that taken care of.
