2012 S4 PP Titanium Vs Alfa Romeo Giulia Ti Sport
Hi all,
I own a Lava grey 2012 S4 Prestige Plus Titanium Pkg. with 49K miles on it in pretty good shape... but the new Alfa Romeo Giulia Ti, Sport Package in red tri-coat is like so damn sexy that I am seriously considering changing cars... have any of you ever got tempted with a car like this?

I get tempted all the time. Fortunately, I have had the willpower to resist. Although the Alfa is dead solid sexy, and may have some impressive performance numbers, I'm not sure that it would be a great daily driver. I would also be very concerned about reliability. Great for a one night fling, but not so for a long term relationship! Kinda like a really sexy Italian mistress that needs a lot of upkeep. Have you considered a Maserati ? J/K, BTW, having second thoughts about the Italian mistress!

It sounds even better, although I haven't seen or heard one in person. There are a few videos out there on YouTube. The look and sound comes with a pretty hefty price tag. Not tempted at $80,000. I'm perfectly content with my S4. On the flip side, I almost bought an Alpha Romeo Spider Series 1 in high school.

I will take both the Maserati and the Italian mistress, with a 90% off of MSRP.

My lease on my '15 S4 is up in November and the car has been flawless so far and a blast to drive. I'm struggling with whether I buy it outright or trade for something else. RS3 sportback (or an S series avant of any sort) would get me going, but at the moment, I can't see what I gain by doing anything other than simply buying out the existing car.

Couldn't agree more---did some 'net shopping to take a look at it after seeing an ad and quickly concluded the same thing--very pricey if you want the high output engine and throaty sound. Reliability scares me as well. Don't really want to trade down to a 4 cylinder (turbo or not) and if I'm going to pay for the big engine (80k+), likely I'd start looking for a used S7 or RS7.

The Alfa is an unknown quantity at this point. If there was a way to have both... but Alfa F'ed up so bad on customer service last time in the US (I know, I had one and still have it) they'll no doubt be more careful this time. Lastly Jeremy says he's buying one IIRC. Oh and my brother, ameteur racer and allaround Porscheophile, test drove one at some exclusive LA track event and is smitten. Said it's the best-sounding car he's ever driven, and he has 3 Alfas and 2 Porsches.
Only complaint (mine, not his) is Alfa interior < Audi interior.
Go for it!
