2013 audi s4 cost of ownership?
Hello everyone, I'm new here and S4 is my dream car.
I just wanted to know how much would it be to actually own a S4?
I heard that insurance could be a lot, and warranty.
I just want to get a perspective of how much I would be spending before actually buying it.
If an owner could share their experience with the cost of insurance, warranty, gas. I would really appreciate it.

You may need to do a bit of the legwork on this one.
None of us know how much your insurance would be. A call to your insurance company would be the best way to get that number. Gas depends on driving style, mileage driven normally etc.

The 2015 S4 was less...
… to insure than my 2012 A6. The RS5, however was considerably more, but way less than a Subaru WRX STI. I point this out only to underscore the importance of getting quotes that are specific to you in your location. The S4 and our two S5's have been pretty bulletproof. The tire wear is horrific, but we are dedicated canyon carvers on the weekends, so we get about 10K from a set of tires (even with rotation). If you drive less aggressively and shift to harder compounds, you would get considerably more. Mileage: in D mode on the highway at 65 - 28-31 mpg; in S mode flailing through the canyons - well maybe 12-13 mpg. Let's not discuss the RS5 which needs a MUCH larger tank for those of us who venture onto California's deserted mountain roads. It holds only 16 gallons and that might go only 150 miles with lot's of elevation rise and high speeds.
If you love driving, the S4 will be worth your investment :-)
If you are saving money - aim to include the performance options (sport differential, adaptive damping. 19-inch tire upgrade to summer performance tires) and leave the other stuff (Technology, High gloss Black, Prestige Package). They are great but don't improve the performance driving experience. IMHO, my S4, is the most fun wailing through the mountains, radio/stereo OFF, all windows open to catch the glorious blast of the motors, the tires working hard, the hot brake smell and the whiff of the trees and earth as we power along.
Happy Motoring

As others have already stated, insurance will vary from your driving record to where you drive, etc.. As for reliability/durability, I have one unscheduled visit to the dealer (water pump leak; replaced under warranty).
My S4 is my daily, I drive mostly freeways commuting between San Diego and Orange County so mileage will vary (I average 23 mpg - fyi). After refreshing my ECU with REVO Stage 1, my mpg is now 26mpg! Because I drive the freeways 90% of the time, my OE tires lasted 45k miles (very surprising). I've now racked up 63k miles now and no issues.
I've also taken my S4 to the track (Chuckwalla) before I did the ECU flash, there was good torque but roasted the brakes and cooked the tires. The S4 isn't exactly light, at the track the weight definitely made itself known. As a "compromise car" daily driver and weekend warrior, Audi did a terrific job. Good luck with your decision/purchase, I don't think you can go wrong with the S4.
