2014 S4 questions
Want to upgrade my 2007 S4 to the 2014. Was wondering how the new supercharged v6 stood against the old v-8? I was checking out a review on the 2014 and saw it had a air-to-water intercooler, does this make for extra maintenance? Heres the review, really like this guys stuff. 2014 Audi S4 - Review & Test Drive - madcards

No extra maintenance with the intercooler. The V6 TFSI offers the instant torque with the supercharger. Might even get a litte better gas mileage than the V8. You might loose some of the V8 rumble but im sure you'll be more than happy with it.

The 3.0T (T stands for supercharged) has made the Wards Best Engines list for multiple years in a row (on different implementations) so it's a decent engine. It's been used for at least six year and it's still not on it's way out.

Having had a B6 s4 , I have to say that the 3.0 SC engine is a fantastic engine. In stock form it is so much better than the 4.2 V8. Gearing in the car is just right as opposed to the B6/B7. I've had 3 B8s so far, you could not get me to buy another car with the 4.2 gas guzzler. 3.0Sc literally blows away the 4.2(pun intended) Only issue is that the B8 s4s are prone to having the IC radiator punctured by road debris. This can you stranded on the side of the road. It is not covered under factory warranty and can cost as much as $800 to repair.
There is a DIY protective screen you can easily and cheaply put on the car to help prevent this. Some 2014/2015 owners have claimed their cars had protective strips on their radiators from the factory. My 2014 did not.

I know my 2012 didn't but I bought the above shortly after I got the car. Back in the day I looked at a few 2013's and they even had it, my 2014 SQ5 and 2015 S6 both came with it. So at least Audi is learning...maybe...
