...dreadfully boring. I have been thinking that the B9 RS4 would be the replacement to my S6 next year but this is not exactly inspiring confidence. Hopefully the RS4 will have a lot more flair than this yawn inducing ride. I can appreciate a sleeper but this thing is more like comatose.

If you get the new one, it'll be about 100 pounds lighter mostly from the battery. Perhaps 5% more power on the factory tune. And the biggest feature will be the cabin upgrades. You'll get the TFT gauge cluster, the sharper MMI screen, and the resculpted controls and shift handle.

I think they are going to raise the bar for electric steering up the level Porsche is at now, particularly in the RS4. It is going to be a great car.
I would not be surprised if the new Porsche sedan under the Panamera is based on this B9 with 80% of the parts replaced. I also wouldn't be surprised if the RS4 uses a detuned engine from the Macan S. I don't see how it makes sense to develop another 3.0L Turbo V6 for a low volume model like an RS4, even if it gets used in the RS5 and R8 entry level. That's under 10,000 cars a year.
