As with anything mechanical, there are bound to be failures, especially given the myriad of variables involved. Driving habits/maintenance practices/climate/etc. clearly play their factors. However, the Audi 3.0 TFSI in question was a Ward's 10 Best Engines award winner for six straight years...

When I had my 2010 S4 it had apr stage 1 and no other mods. In the short time that i had it my Crankshaft pulley failed the rubber piece that holds the two components separated and sheared my drive belt as well as my s/c belt got damage. The car was only 44k when it happen. I've seem a few ppl that had the same problem i believe its more common with Chip vehicles then stock. Another thing was it burn oil like crazy i'll check the exhaust pipes and it always had a ridiculous amount of burned oil. Like i said the crankshaft i feel like if i didn't have the stage 1 that probably wouldn't have happen and as for the oil consumption i think it was common for the 2010 year as it seems they fixed that probelm in the later years.
