Default Simoniz Glasscoat

Hey fellas,

Well...I am going to pick-up my new S4 tomorrow and of course I received an email from my Dealership if I am interested in adding this Simoniz Classcoat on the new car...apparently lifetime warranty...bla,bla!

Anyone having experience with this product? I don't know how much they will charge for it but according to some other reviews somewhere between $350-600 bucks.

Sounds like rip-off to me. I am not going to do it but I'm still curious if that's a great product or a waste of money? Are there any good products out there that I can easily apply myself?

Thanks for your input!

Shiva, if you're located in the USA, and willing to spend that kind of $$$, see if you can track someone in your local area who can apply this:

It's a rip off. Every car dealer always pushes something like that. I forget what my dealer called it, but it was a different brand than yours. Anyway if you really think you need it, you can buy the chemicals online for under $100 and do it yourself.

$73 on amazon. $73 on amazon.

Thanks guys! I thought so but wanted to be sure. Every time a dealership pushes a certain product there is more in for them and not for the buyer.

BTW...why would I not want to wax my car for 7 years...takes all the fun away. I take great pride in my cars and I plan on keeping it that way! :-)

LOL, you'll be waxing in 2 years tops with those products.

Same concept as 22ple, but with the added cost of basically paying for a warranty, as it isn't actually going to last as long as the dealership claims. Additionally, you'd have to let the dealership "detail" your car before you put it on. I wouldn't trust mine to do that.
