The s6 is an amazing car. If you have the itch I would go with that, as we will probably have to wait til 2016/2017 for a B9 S4

Exactly my plan. Picking up my Daytona gray 2016 S4 with sport diff in late August on a 3 year lease and then may get the new B9 S4 once the inevitable teething problems are solved and discounts can be had. As has been said, the current S4 is still perhaps the best sports sedan; however, this will likely change in the next year with the new C450AMG, 340i and Jag EX.

Parrot, my dealer said the b9 S4 should be released in late 2016 as a 2017 model but I suspect he's just guessing.

You can configure the new B9 A4 on Audi Deutschland. A loaded top end model comes out to about 58,000 Euro but that's with the 3.0L TFSI

But the S4 is likely 10k more.

My Dealer (in Utah) confirmed that orders could be placed for the B9 S4 this fall, but they wouldn't receive orders until spring 2017 as, most likely, a 2018 MY

I'm now feeling glad I bought a 2016 S4 late last year. I was on the fence for a few months considering waiting for 2017 S4.

Given latest estimated availability of 2017 S4, I wish I bought earlier now :-) ... but I'm unconvinced I wouldn't have preferred A6/S6. If I was buying soon, I'd look closely at these two.
