It was right on the edge of the B&O grills that house the tweeters and sub so I wouldn't do anything different from those dimensions I put.

It hangs down less than 3", with the 1.5" ring, which is about the maximum ring thickness one could use.

Would you say the ideal spacer thickness would be 1"-1.5" angled?

I am really debating between the efficient Pioneer sub with stock amp vs. doing a shallow mount 4 ohm sub that would require an additional amp. More money and work but with a spacer the shallow mount sub would only stick down about 1.5" depending on the sub.

Offhand I'd say whatever spacer you can find easily is the best. The depth of the pioneer sub has only once been a problem for me, and I was able to rearrange things around it ok, so not much of a problem.

I was going to ask a friend of mine to custom make one so I figured I would go with whatever was ideal to maximize trunk space.

Angled spacer ring would be best, with front to back angle range around 0.5" to 1.0" & should be less than 1.5" tall (1.25" is good), at the highest point. Inside diameter around 9.125".

Hey there,
What is that black/purple wire that you spliced into? What does it lead to?
Thanks.

Meant the wire from the fuse box used as a remote turn on.
Just wondering what that wire is from.
Followed this write up months ago to install a box in my car. Worked great!! Now my car is back in for service for the third time where I'm getting codes and they can't figure out where it's coming from. They called in an Audi Canada service tech to come see the car. I'm just a little worried they might find what is spliced into and try to put it on me. I'm confident it has nothing to do with me, but can't help but worry until I get word from them.
They even called me and asked if I have ever chipped the car.
They're stumped
