Buying an preowned 2013 S4
Hello All,
Wanted to get your opinion on buying a used 2013 Audi S4. I am currently debating getting a S4 from either my local Audi dealership or car max. So the current Audi dealership has a 2013 S4 Premium Plus for $37k with 35k miles on it and it has a CPO warranty. Upon searching other dealers and I found a car max 2013 S4 Prestige with 26K miles on it for 36k. My dilemma and why I'm posting here is to get you opinion, should I go the dealer route or the Car Max Route?
Also, what is the difference between the 2013 Premium Plus & Prestige?
Thanks,

Get the one with the CPO as long as it has a sport dif. (Sport dfi will be standard on Prestige)In 2013 you could option out a Prem + to have exactly the same options as a Prestige EXCEPT for the Bi Xenon headlights which no one says is a MUST HAVE. Prestige has a package of options that are standard but optional on Prem+, For me, the color combo and transmission would have a big influence as well. If you don't get the CPO'd car, you should consider getting an extended warrant. This makes the Cpo'd car actually cheaper. BTW, I'm on my 3rd B8 S4.

I love your question because I/we get to provide input and insight!
I hate your question because there is now way I/we know enough to do what you need to do - make your own decision!
I'd say the price difference makes them equal and the CPO warranty or aftermarket is definitely a good insurance policy to have. In my area, I have several dealerships and other Audi specialist shops to choose - these are good options to have!
If it was my choice, I would go with the color, transmission, and options I most wanted - you should investigate the price for an extended warranty for the non-dealer car and decided if its lower miles outweighs the now-lower dealer price.
I disagree with DrGP with both the sports differential and the Bi Xenon headlights. The car is a beast and unless you are going through a set of tires each year, I doubt you will notice the sports diff difference. Xenon headlights are standard on this vehicle and being better able to see at night is a 'must have' in my opinion!
Either way, you should be able to negotiate the price for either car using the other car's advantage for comparison! If these details really mean nothing to you, then that makes the decision easier, price! Good luck and I hope you'll return to share a happy ending!
