Hey guys,

I'm currently looking at getting a B8.5 and came across what I would consider to be a good deal. The dealership (non Audi) claims that it is a CPO car. The Carfax shows that the first owner had it CPO'd, but there was a second owner after that. I'd be the third.

So, my question is does that transfer over to another owner? How would I go about to ensure that it is still valid?

The original factory warranty carries over if any is left, but my impression is that CPO usually does not when the car has been resold from a non-Audi dealer source. Since Audi is basically extending the warranty, they usually want the car to be in their control first and will go through it and make sure it can still be CPO'd. Is this dealer willing to put it in writing your car will still be CPO'd somehow?

You could always buy a third party warranty from the current dealer. Or maybe call your potential Audi service location and ask if the CPO really does transfer without a hassle. I'd be interested to know if it can be.

Not sure a car with 2 previous owners can be CPO'd???

CPO does not transfer through non-Audi dealers, only private party sales. So no CPO and dealer sounds shady.
