Driveshaft rebuild?

Driveshaft rebuild?
I did some searching, but didn't seem to come across anything. I'm wondering if anyone has ever had their driveshaft (propeller shaft) rebuilt rather than replaced. I had a severe vibration in the rear of my S4 and it turned out to be the driveshaft. I know I've seen some mention of problems with the center bearing wearing. I was hoping to find some way to fix the issue without going new, since the part is like $1600. Any help would be appreciated. I don't have any mods if that needs to be known. Thanks!

Not sure if it is a damaged driveshaft or bad bearing. There are places that specialize in driveshafts and should be able to tell if it balances properly or if bearing are bad.

I have not heard of driveshaft issues on the B8 S4 Audi.
