Oil thin film after intake butterfly
While doing the spark plugs on our 2010, I decided I do a little cleanup of the butterfly valve to reduce sticking. Have seen this in all my past cards (mostly GM) and it makes use of the accelerator smoother when there's a buildup.
I was surprised to find a thin film of oil basically from the seat of the butterfly as far as I could see toward the engine. Haven't seen any on the other side of the butterfly.
In the past I'd been led to believe it was time for a PCV change. But there's a post on the forums that this is normal. So which is it?
Second, is there somewhere I should be looking for all the oil we've been adding between changes? The tailpipes are certainly not black which I would expect if it were getting burned up and b/c of the sheer volume. We're at 2L about 7k miles into our 10k mile cycle, fyi.
