Launch control there is the big bang, it hits, then seems to die off for a 1/4 to 1/2 second before it starts to go again.

With it in Sport ESP/Sport mode feels more like a traditional torque converter, RPM's rise and you take off which to me feels much faster and I believe others have tested it with/without LC and found non-LC to be faster.
