Default Will there be another RS4?

Currently in an M3 sedan. The previous RS4 was on its way out, so went with the M3. Now with no new M3 sedan coming out, RS4 could fit the bill.

Nothing concrete or announced, but there have been some leaks around sources claiming to be close to the matter, who say yes. 2013 or 2014, and it will have a SC like the S4, but will be a new engine, a smaller V8 with 3.8L displacement.

I thought it was a 4.0L displacement SC, though.

Thanks Bruce! That was the post I for some reason couldn't find! I guess I was thinking about the 3.8L that I had recommended

From what I've heard (if there is one), the next RS4 will be Avant only in which case the US won't get it. The US will focus on the RS5 rather than any sort of RS4 variant. That's IF an RS4 happens. This is what i've heard directly from the mouths of product planners at AoA.

Being that the RS5 is already a B8, I'm not confident that there will be a B8 RS4. RS4s every other generation: B5, B7, B9?

I also remember reading an article about Audi Engineers saying they would still use turbos on the highest end model motors. The SC made sense for the middle (S models) because you get some of the best of both worlds.

RS is the highest tier of performance Audi offer, it's made for them by their Quattro GmbH arm, and yet the RS5 has a naturally aspirited V8.

No supercharger, no turbos.

RS 4 sedan with flared fenders similar to the RS 5 and the European C5 RS 6 will look amazing. I would think there would be at least as much demand for the B8 RS 4 as there was for the B7 body style to make a business case for it. They even brought over a cabriolet RS 4 on the B7 which was a big mistake due to the high price tag of $82K fully loaded.

don't need a new engine; just let the current one loose; we all know what can be done.
