MMI syncs all contacts on Android phone

MMI syncs all contacts on Android phone
Guys,
I just switched to Android from iPhone. I am using Galaxy S3. The issue I have is that MMI, instead of syncing just "My Contacts", is syncing "All Contacts". "All Contacts" has all the recipients or senders that I ever sent an email to or received an email from. In the phone, I have changed the setting to only show contacts with phone and it does that, but when it syncs with MMI, MMI shows all contacts with or without email, which is annoying.
Have you guys seen this problem with Galaxy S3 or any other Android phone syncing with MMI?
Any help appreciated.

I'm shocked you were able to make it work at all
I had a Galaxy SII that worked until AT&T pushed Android 2.4.6 and then the car won't recognize the phone as a bluetooth device, and replacement with a Galaxy Skyrocket with 2.3.5 didn't change that status.
