Default Oil Leak @ 2,000 miles?!?

I have 2,000 miles (3,000 KMs) on my 2015 S4. The oil level indicator shows that the oil level is already down by and 1/8th. Since there's no dipstick, i don't know what this means. Anyway, I don't think this is normal. Or is it?

Check the manual. I'd say it probably normal to use more oil in first 5K miles. Also, anything between min and max in MMI (checked on flat surface after engine warmed) is normal, so not sure if you are saying you are in that range or if a light came on telling you to add oil.

I don't think I'd worry about it. First oil change is at 5K miles. You can mention the consumption when you bring it in for that but I'm pretty sure it's normal in first 5k miles.

When you got your car new, the piston rings were not completely seated. If you did a proper break in , they hopefully now are. It is not unusual to consume some oil during the first 5k miles. You are not leaking it if you don't see any on the ground/road where you park the car. IF, after 5k you are still consuming oil, either your piston rings have never seated completely (your fault), or you have a bad PCV valve (common)

Out of curiosity how did you break the car in? Did you follow the owners manual or did you follow one of the many other procedures available on various forums, etc? Also, how many miles did the vehicle have when you took delivery?

A little oil consumption is considered acceptable during the first few thousand miles. Hopefully it's normal in your case...

I think it had 75 miles at delivery. Used the break in methods suggested on this forum = "drive it like you stole it" method.

Anyone know why Audi stopped providing dipsticks? To save $2 a car?!?
