I had local Audi run VIN and they confirmed there has been no modifications and an update was performed just yesterday when the vehicles headlight was repaired under warranty. She suggested purchasing an extended warranty. I may pursue this, through Audi, if possible even though I'm purchasing car from non Audi dealership. If there is a tune on the car is it possible it wasn't detected if they weren't looking for it?

I'd try and contact the previous owner if the dealership will share that information or if it is listed in the owners manual. If you take it in to a Audi dealership service and it gets scanned and it has been tuned then you get flagged TD1 and then all drivetrain warranty claims are up to Audi corporate. Or you could not worry about it and use a independent repair person for routine service...but sooner or later you will need some type of warranty work done I suspect...
