Thanks Kent, but I'm unsure what you are referring to. If your talking about the sliver crash bar shown in pic 2, it was painted with a flat black paint before the new grille was attached.

I have not seen anyone with the silver or chrome mesh as you would see on an actual rs4. I'm sure you can find them for $800-$1000 at oem price but I wasn't willing to spend that for a grille. The build quality of this grille is good, but the only problem as most have posted are the emblem re-install.

Thank you Cash. I am actually looking into an electronic plate holder that hides under the bumper and with a push of a button will bring the plate up. This is for purposes of insepection stickers and police who were not pulling me over for no front plate. Otherwise I will just go for as long as I can until I get in trouble. I know stupid.
I feel your pain. Laws in my province require a front plate as well. Hideous!

I am a purist...when I drove a BMW I would diss all those guys driving 325, 328, 330, and 335is but modifying them to look like M3's.
This just smacks of that....an RS4 grill on an S4 is like flared fenders on a 328i or an "M" badge on a 335i...its just wrong.
Sorry...if you want an RS4 grill buy an RS4
