It might interest you to hear that my car has just been recalled for some work on the fuel-injection system due to a potential leak. Entails 5 hours of work to check and replace some parts.

My rough translation: "In rare cases you may smell petrol. It cannot be fully excluded that the leaked fuel gets to somewhere where it ignites."

Edit: I should have mentioned that it is a 2011 car.

There is a US recall for leaking fuel rails. I would assume it would include all cars built regardless of where they were sold.
