Default 2013+ S4 Stasis 6MT Clutch Issues?

Hello All,

I'm looking to buy a 2013.5 S4 with the Stasis flash but I'm reading about issues with durability of the clutch from the original B8 launch.

Are people still experiencing issues with clutch durability while having a Stage I Stasis tune (ECU flash only)?

I greatly appreciate your support!

Are you sure that Stasis is still in business? Some post on AZ seem to indicate they are not??? But based on my experience with my previous 2010 S4 clutch, I would be very wary.

I've actually been in contact with Stasis leads via e-mail who said they are finishing the 2014 S4 tune still but shouldn't be too much longer. My local dealership says they still work with Stasis semi-regularly. Therefore, yes, I believe it's fair to assume they're still in business.

Speculation about Stasis arose following an announcement by Revo that sounded like Stasis and Revo were splitting after combining not that long ago. Prior to the split, I think the combined company was managed by people going with Revo and there is no management team listed on the Stasis site. Stasis never responded to those rumors (either in the forum or via public announcement like Revo) so there was some concern about their ongoing operations. I haven't kept up with the topic, but I haven't heard of any announcements from Stasis one way or the other.

Just be aware that Stasis is the same as all other tuners in the eyes of Audi regardless of what an Audi dealer may tell you. You can be denied a warranty claim by Audi for a Stasis tune just like any other company that tunes. Stasis is then supposed to step in to take care of the issue with the Stasis warranty, so the value of the Stasis warranty resides with Stasis, not Audi.

You will run through the original clutch with a tune. It adds significant power and the reason the manual S4 is less expensive is it uses an A4 clutch (essentially). I went with the JHM stage 3 clutch (one side organic, one side ceramic) and a the JHM flywheel. It's been working well so far and I recommend it.

I've been driving MT almost exclusively for 48 yrs. But when you lift your foot totally off the floor and the pedal remains there and the car goes nowhere , there is a problem.

Completely agree.

Clutch slip issues with any tune/performance mods have been discussed at length on some other threads.

The situation Sucks. At this point I have my 2014 with APR tune, pulley and exhaust. The car pulls hard in gear but after the few times I dumped the clutch and didnt go anywhere, I've completely given up on hard launches.
