So I'm looking to trade in my old 2001 TT, and right now the S4 is looking like my top choice. I could use a bit of advice though.

I went and test drove a 2014 prestige yesterday, and it was indeed nice. I liked all the fancy MMI Google Maps integration, but when I asked about Spotify integration, the salesman said it would be coming in an update at the end of the year. Anyone heard this, or was he just making stuff up to get the sale?

As for my choices right now, I can either order a blue 2015 model premium plus with the MMI/premium leather/adaptive suspension which would come out to $55k (and forgo a lot of expensive options I don't personally care about), OR there is a blue 2014 prestige model with all the fixings locally at a VW dealer that has 7k miles and they are asking $55k for. I figure the used one only makes sense if I can talk them down $5k? What do you guys think?

Also, how reliable have the B8s been? Should I avoid any options? My TT has had almost every electronic thing on the car break, the fabric has all come loose, and the paint is crap. The engine has been fairly good, but that's about it. I really didn't even want another Audi, but I can't find a better looking 4 door that gets gas mileage in the 20s.

Hmmm, just saw that the blue changed for MY2015, and I'm digging it a lot more. I had assumed the car builder on the audi website would be updated to 2015, but I guess not. If I can still get the 2015 for the same price with the different color, I may go that route.

There's no Spotify update coming later this year, that salesman was trying to make a sale today. FWIW, I use Spotify everyday in my car with my iPhone. You don't need a built-in app. Car makers need to stop trying to turn their dashboards into iPads. Give me a USB port and my phone will do the rest, thanks.

The configurator on Audi's website is still displaying 2014 colors and options.

Actually there are 2 additional blues. One is old the other new as a standard color. The Sepang Blue used to be a $2500 Audi exclusive color. I really like the Sepang. Also there is a Nogaro Special edition with RS4 style wheels. Nogaro was a VERY popular B6/B7 S4 color. Replaced with Sprint Blue which in 2010/2011 was a standard color but now available as a $2500-$3500 Audi exclusive color. The SE Nogaro has 2 tone Nogaro/black seats and door panels as well. Special trim too! BTW, I suggest you PASS ON the Prestige and order a Prem+ . Only thing you will lose is the adaptive headlights. Otherwise you can order a Prem+ with all the same options as on a Prestige, OR NOT.

Thanks! I kind of figured. I can use Spotify in my 01 TT over Bluetooth, but I hate having to deal with connecting and starting Spotify on short trips. If I could just get in the car and have Spotify start like a regular station, that would be perfect.

I went to go see the used 2014 S4, but it had been sold. So I went back and talked to the dealer, and decided to wait till I see Sepang blue in person to make my choice. Now the VW dealer just called and said the used S4 buyer couldn't get financing... So I figure I'll go take a look, and only jump on it if they can make me an offer I can't refuse.
