Lots of guys asking for pricing, so I'll just go ahead and post it here rather than doing multiple PM's.

Price is not for the faint of heart. Much of the cost is tied up in labor, it takes up 1/2 of the total amount in fact.

It was $3k total, about 1/2 in parts and 1/2 in labor. Was it worth it? Hell yes it was, to me.

On my previous BMW 335i I put in a Reus Audio System, and that cost me almost 4k. I think this solution sounds even better, and I don't lose my trunk to a big sub box either.

Im not too familiar with audio components (amps, subs), but Im assuming that those are top of the line equipment.. If I'm just looking at a standard sub and amp, how much (or what brand) should I look to spend/buy? I intend on buying the B&O sound system, but I've heard the bass isnt that great, so something like this would be ideal. I totally get the labor part of this. As long as the work is done well, I would pay $1500 on labor...

Where are you located? I'm sure some of the guys online here could recommed some reputable shops in your area. For sure there are lower end components available that would sound fine. You could even get a used amp for 1/2 price off of Craigslist or Ebay and save some there. The sub itself I would buy new, but again, you could step down a few notches, and probably wouldn't notice much sound difference from the one I chose.

The key is to find a shop that has done a lot of fabrication/fiberglass work. Some of the shops I visited first only knew how to do the standard box builds, and had very little expertise with the job I had in mind, and the one I went with. You don't want someone learning how to do this on your car.

that' a pretty clean setup bro, do you think a JL 10"/W7 would fit in there..? I was thinking of putting the following in my new B8 S4:

http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_subs.php?series_id=5
http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_amps.php?amp_id=483

Just not sure it would fit but I'd be doing the same type job that you did on yours....that is if the sub fits

How about a smaller physical size amp and shallow subwoofer?

http://kicker.com/ix_amplifiers
275W @ 4ohm, 550W @ 2ohm, Class D, IX500.1 Kicker
Length: in 9-3/8
Height: in 2-3/16
Width: in 7-7/8

http://kicker.com/comp_vt
2 or 4 ohm, 400W RMS, 800W peak
10" Mounting Depth (IN) 4-1/4
Min Rec Sealed Box Volume = 0.8 CU. FT.
This subwoofer can be placed in a very small sealed box.

Took my car back in today to get the grill installed.

Hertz doesn't make a nice speaker grill, so we decided to use a JL Audio 13" subwoofer grill. It fit over nicely on the Hertz, and except for the "JL" label on the front, looks like it fits well with the Hertz.
