Default Thermostat issue as I buy out my lease

Just as I'm buying out my lease with only 30k miles on my car, the engine overheats. I was getting ready to ship it out to Jersey when the issue happened. I had to cancel the shipment and wait for the car to be fixed.

Audi said it's the thermostats. I was reading some post and apparently there's also a water pump issue?

In 3 1/2yrs of owning the car, I only had to deal with squeaking brakes at about 22kmiles and now this.

2010 and some early 2011 had WP problems. There was a recall. If yours is working fine I wouldn't worry. The T stat is more of an issue since the supercharger needs to be removed to replace it.

Default Ordering new 2015 s4 : thermostat protection

I voiced my concerns about thermostat going bad after factory warranty. This was based on posting here on other audi board. I asked for 7 year/ 70 k extension of warranty. Dealer said they could not do that . However they were wiling to do any required thermostat repair for that time period for their costs of parts & labor. Internal labor rate now is $30/ hour. Not a bad deal. I will order car Thursday . 2015 s4 , 7 speed dual clutch, florent silver , black, silver leather, B&O. Radio, sport diff. , tech package, supercharged badges, winter mats & the deal on thermostat $53378 & tax and $429 dealer prep rip off fee. All an all 7.5 % of msrp. Not great deal but not bad one. Comments? Car will be here around Nov 17th, as dealer will change in coming allocation .

jyges - any reasons why you're not waiting for the B9 S4 which should be coming out in 2016? although you might be making the better choice as Audi has worked out much of the B8 S4 issues. I don't know what the stats are for the 2012,2013 & 2014 with regards to reliability.

I would want the promise to replace the Tstat IN WRITING. Sales and service mgrs. come and go. Dealership could easily change ownership. So the promise is only good if the dealership honors it. A verbal commitment is worthless. BTW, ordered car generally take 8 weeks to come to the east coast. Dealer doesn't seem to be doing anything special to get yours early.

The agreement about the thermostat will be placed on the purchase order and signed by the general manager of the dealership. He approved it.I have no issue on the timing. I do not know how a car can be ordered manufactured and delivered in 8 weeks

also I would never buy a model it's first year . Also the display screen will most likely be placed on the top of the dash as in the new SUV. I like where the screen is now. More important my 2000 BMW will need new tires, most likely a complete cooling system rebuild within that time new model comes out and its value will not increase with all the repairs I make. 15 years is enough with the same car,I am not getting any younger and want to enjoy what my be my last car.

Now the wait begins. That waiting time can SEEM excruciatingly long.
